Introduction of core parameters for ferrite core
Leave a message
In order to solve your confusion, let's introduce some basic parameters of the magnetic core.
First of all, Ae refers to the effective cross-sectional area of the magnetic core, and the unit is generally (mm ^ 2).
Students who do not know the magnetic core may see this sentence, and they do not know what it means. People often ask me how to check the Ae value with the actual magnetic core.
Let's tell you that Ae value can be obtained through measurement after getting an actual magnetic core.
Look at the actual magnetic core diagram below.
ring magnetic core in Figure 1 below refers to the Ae value. Some engineers may think that the transformer is not in this shape, but may be in the shape of the ferrite magnetic core, such as EE shape and PQ.
For example, the brown area in the EE magnetic core in Figure 2 refers to the Ae value, which is the so-called effective cross-sectional area through the magnetic flux.
Let's refer to the following two figures, It can be seen whether the Ae value can be measured by our actual magnetic core. As long as the area of the center pillar is actually measured, the center pillar is a cuboid. Whether it is easy to measure can be calculated only by knowing the length and width.

Some people may ask whether the black parts on both sides can be tested. The sum of the cross-sectional areas on both sides is equal to the area of the central column.
